This is the stone I am most often reaching for when I am doing routine sharpening on knives that are not quite sharp but they aren't dull or blunt. It cuts at a good pace but it is not overly aggressive so if your knife already has the bevel set and just needs a bit of work to bring it back to full sharpness this stone is a great place to start and even end with depending on the steel and what it will be used for. I leave my paring, steak, and "utility" knives at a 400 grit finish for a nice toothy edge and am able to use this as a "1 and done" stone
The stone is ~4.1mm thick and took me about 20 knives just to get through the ink markings so it should last a good while.
